Gingrich says White House needs to make some changes

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, ever the savvy politician who in recent months has worked hard at looking bi-partisan, told ABC News' "This Week" that the Republicans are in big trouble.
"I've been trying to tell everybody I can find on Capitol Hill and in the White House, if they don't have substantial change by the State of the Union, and if they don't convince the country that they've gotten the message, I think they're in big trouble."
For the good of the country — screw the good of the Republican party — I hope the president does indeed make some substantive and positive changes. He still has three years remaining to fulfill his campaign promises from five years ago of being a "compassion conservative" and a "uniter, not a divider." But, I'm still not optimistic.
